Back in 1994, one great guy named Gerry Anderson began filming a series called Space Precinct. It was based on the 55-minute pilot film Space Police from 1986 (so don’t believe the movie search, they say, this is an adaptation of the novels by Diane Duane and Peter Morwood. Rather, their books were based on the pilot episode). Then the short film did not find the proper response from the audience and was not continued.
It reached Russia in 1997 and was shown on ORT under the name “space police”, after which it was replayed in 1999. Most likely, many of those who caught this period of “central television without Ernst” and, in fact, recognized the series itself, are already surfing the expanses of torrents in search of the appropriate distribution. This is such a thick hint that he is damn good, at least for his time.
flying cars and futuristic skyscrapers
With a decent budget, a sci-fi maestro at the helm, great enthusiasm and an interesting idea, Space Precinct inevitably expected high ratings, public recognition and… oblivion. The second season never happened.
It’s a shame to https://hfive5casino.co.uk/ say that it’s the future, but the guy is playing with a Sega Mega Drive joystick
So, 2040. Humanity has made great strides forward in science and has established connections with alien civilizations. At the same time, the problems remained the same – drugs, theft, murder, smuggling, illegal immigrants and stuff like that. The police are still monitoring all this. The story will be told about one of its sections.

Not only is the plot already worthy of an excellent detective series, but also the fantastic theme is used to the fullest. Her attributes are involved in almost everything. In addition to flying cars, blasters, telecommunications and interrogating suspects using telepathy, and not felt boots and socks with sand, a lot of attention is paid to small details that are not at all necessary for the main narrative. For example, aliens of the same race can easily notice different eye colors, and a police car can cook its own food. The interiors, the city, transport, and basically everything, except, perhaps, social relations (yes, aliens behave like people, a standard cliché of science fiction of that time, a warm lamp cliché) were subject to elaboration. What can we say, most police officers are representatives of extraterrestrial races and for each they were not too lazy to make their own suit.

And all of the above would be worth nothing if the quality of all this were not at its best. The scenery, costumes and other surrounding staff are worthy, dare I say it, of the first Star Wars trilogy. The actors play quite convincingly. They even manage to actively use facial expressions, although they are wearing costumes and masks, sometimes quite large. I’ve already talked about the plot, but I’ll say it again, it’s excellent. A lot can happen in the 40 minutes that the episode lasts. It’s actually a short action-packed film. Naturally, do not forget to make a discount on the year of release when you do not see modern special effects there.
Despite the fact that I here praised an exceptionally reverent approach to detail, sometimes you can still notice things that are not very characteristic of the style of the future, moreover, many of them are anachronistic for our time.
The courtroom hasn’t changed much in 46 years
Overall, I highly recommend it. Works of this quality can be counted on one hand. Perhaps the series will seem somewhat childish and naive, but, for example, for me, this is rather a plus, because it already has something to show without excessive vulgarity and cruelty.
P.S.
Gerry Anderson himself is a famous man who left (and is leaving) a considerable mark on the science fiction genre and, undoubtedly, influenced many of its modern incarnations (in Space Precinct you can find many references to both already released and future SF films). However, in a Russian-language search, some Scottish darsist pops up instead, and references to this series are damn hard to find. I think this is another reason to share this miracle with everyone.
