So why are there games??

Good day, dear bloggers. Somehow it turned out too pretentious… oh well. I’ll start from afar.
Recently an interesting thought occurred to me. Once again, hearing some politician again scolding computer games for violence, I thought: “Why the games themselves??». After all, in the “zombie box” you can now see not just violence, it is perverted, seasoned with black humor, and presented as a matter of course. And the books? Try to read modern “blockbusters”, your hair will stand on end.
Of course, the accusers of games can say that when playing, a person associates himself with the player. And they’ll be right. But in both the book and the film, we (sometimes) want to be in the place of the hero, and in our thoughts we replay the same plot, but only with ourselves.
I wrote all this so that you understand me. And my thought is simple. A movie can be watched in 2 hours, a book can be read in 2 days, but what about games?? Even if the game is short (5-6 hours), you can explore it far and wide for months. And when I realized this, everything fell into place. Controlling censorship in games is much more difficult. Hence the conclusion: if it interferes, remove it.
Here, I hope for sound criticism.

Yes, everything is simpler. It’s always easier to blame something new. Television has been sweeping the planet since the 60s. Many generations have grown up on it, unlike computer games, which are relatively young. Accordingly, it is much easier for the adult (and main) part of the electorate to be aggressive towards games, because they have not yet become so firmly entrenched in their everyday life. And if you blame their favorite TV, with which they grew up from the cradle, then a serious uproar will arise (I grew up on The Simpsons, The Adams Family, Star Wars and others and I don’t kill anyone, but children play these shooting games and become aggressive!). However, it’s no longer so fashionable to blame games, because the IT industry has also taken root and seriously infiltrated the everyday life of modern people.
Just remember electronic cigarettes and 3D cinemas. Even if the thing is much more local, they were also accused of excessive harm (and even the “immaculate” conception!), as soon as they appeared. Many unique people are still afraid of Wi-Fi radiation, although even a schoolchild understands that these are ordinary radio waves that have permeated space since time immemorial. Now try to convince them to give up radios, cell phones and wear tin foil hats or lead helmets. How many people will agree to this??
And this is very convenient for politicians and other active figures to play on, attracting attention to themselves.

Because the games were created by Satan himself. Do you know why, Valve doesn’t have games with the number three in the title?? Three is the Divine Number. Father, Son and Holy Spirit etc.d. VAlve, which created Steam to attract as many people as possible into its diabolical networks, seducing innocent souls with its discounts and sales, is only one of the few. Beware, take care of your soul.

Um, are you aware that https://absolutcasino.co.uk/ in the 17th and 18th centuries there was a persecution of books. So this social age phenomenon will soon pass about 100-200 years, or until they come up with other entertainment.

I didn’t quite catch it… censorship in games is not difficult to control. If I saw someone cut off a leg or have sex in the first person, I gave it an appropriate rating. And yes, there is violence in games anyway, and the cries of politicians are quite fair. Although I am a fan of computer entertainment, I think it would be fair to admit that games affect the mental state and perception of certain things. The point here is not that this or that politician is bad, stupid and generally does not want to understand the essence of things. They may be right in many ways. Games are just something new that you have to understand for the first time. I agree, the thoughts generated from this are not always healthy. There is also the question of the quality and type of work. There is Tarkovsky’s Stalker and there is Twilight (I don’t even remember which), Mozart and Ranetki, Crime and Punishment and comics about Batman. In the same way, The Walking Dead and Saints Row exist… apparently someone doesn’t want to notice this, I don’t know. Games are a new phenomenon that’s all. At the first fever, many people can say crap because they don’t really know what they’re dealing with – and that’s normal.

There would be a problem, but there is always someone or something to blame.
Z.I have heard the phrase many times in different variations: Democracy requires stupid people. And some games force brain cells to show at least some activity.

I think the point is that games are blamed by adult guys (and aunties, probably) who have avoided games and don’t understand anything about them (unlike movies or books). Well, they blame all their sins on something from which they are far from..

our politicians are narrow-minded people who believe that only children can play video games. But children shouldn’t be shown rigidity and dismemberment. And it doesn’t matter that the games are rated 18+, and in Europe and America the average age of gamers has long been 18 years or older. And so usually people are just trying to promote themselves through video games.

It’s possible, but it’s highly undesirable =3 If the rating doesn’t match what’s inside the game, I think the developers or publishers will get it from whoever needs it. But in any case, it doesn’t seem to me that the problem of people who “drive” games is that it’s simply difficult for them to control censorship. There is also the fact that in our long-suffering Russia (I have no doubt in other countries too) laws are sometimes not respected and 18+ products are sold to children. This can also include parents who do not monitor what their child brings home. There are also a lot of unresolved questions (and unlikely to be solved) about how games still influence a person… etc. pr. to the point that each case, for example, of murder “seemingly because of games” is always individual. In short, this is a swamp that if you go into, you’ll come out. And not many people need to lick there.

It all depends on the time: the same Master and Margarita, which was banned earlier, is now not a criticism of the authorities, therefore it is not banned.
